Un mois s’est écoulé depuis que nous avons lancé notre cagnotte. Un petit mois seulement et pourtant… En à peine quelques semaines, nous avons pu faire le nécessaire pour qu’Anatole soit présent en temps et en heure à notre rendez-vous au MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Notre première semaine à Houston vient de se terminer. Nous prenons peu à peu nos repères dans cette ville tentaculaire. Nous apprécions le climat plus clément et le soleil bienfaiteur du Texas. Nous sommes installés dans un appartement mis à disposition par la fondation « Chance For Hope » situé à seulement 10 minutes en voiture du centre. Après la solidarité que tous, vous avez exprimé à travers cette cagnotte, nous sommes accompagnés avec bienveillance par la communauté francophone de Houston qui facilite notre installation.
La prise en charge d’Anatole au MD Anderson s’est faite sans problème. Les premiers tests et examens de l’évaluation se sont bien déroulés et nous avons pu rencontrer le Dr Khatua, responsable de l’essai clinique. Selon les résultats, nous espérons avoir plus d’informations en milieu de semaine prochaine sur l’inclusion ou non d’Anatole dans l’essai clinique.
D’ici là, même si le stress est toujours là , nous relâchons un peu la pression du marathon qui a précédé notre départ. Nous soufflons un peu. Nous profitons de ces journées en famille, de ce voyage inespéré qui nous tient debout et nous soude encore un peu plus.

A month has passed since we launched our pot. Only a few days and yet … In just a few weeks, we were able to arrange for Anatole to be in Houston on time for our MD Anderson Cancer Center appointment.
Our first week in Houston has just ended. We are slowly taking our marks in this sprawling city. We appreciate the warm climate and the Texan sun. We are staying in an apartment provided by the Chance For Hope Foundation located just 10 minutes drive from the center. After the solidarity that you all expressed through this pot, we are kindly accompanied by the francophone community of Houston which facilitates our arrival.
The registration of Anatole at MD Anderson was no problem. The first tests and examinations of the evaluation went well and we were able to meet Dr. Khatua, head of the clinical trial. According to the results, we hope to have more information in the middle of next week on the inclusion or not of Anatole in the clinical trial.
In the meantime, even if the stress is still here, we are easing the pressure of the marathon that preceded our departure. We are breathing out a little. We take advantage of these days with the family, this unexpected trip that keeps us standing and bonds us together a little more.
